

Mayceys origins can be traced back to 1875
As one of New Zealand’s oldest confectionery brand, Mayceys is a name that’s synonymous with Kiwiana favourites like Spearmint leaves, Wine gums, Pink smokers and Gloharts. And who can resist the yummy gumminess of an iconic Mayceys crocodile?

Joseph Stacey started making confectionery and medicated pastilles under the name Stacey Bros Ltd in 1875.

Our Journey

1928
The company was renamed Mayceys Confectionery Ltd in 1928 and moved to its first factory site in Khyber Pass, Auckland. Early products included our famous Pink Smokers and Gloharts products which are synonymous with the Mayceys Brand even today.

1950
1950s- Mayceys moved to Clark St in New Lynn, Auckland where we still are today. Pictured are some of the first vans used by Mayceys to service the corner dairies.


1980
Mayceys made some targeted acquisitions acquiring Mayken Ltd for a chunk of the chocolate and carob market. Introducing the Candyman brand.
It was around this time Mayceys acquired the Kurols brand.(1979)
Kurols are a bit of a kiwi institution


2000 to 2020
Mayceys remains a family owned/managed confectionery manufacturer, producing lollies such as gummies and boiled sweets which we currently delivers to over 1600 outlets across the country, plus supermarkets and other larger retailers


2021 to Now
Mayceys have recently opening a second state of the art manufacturing Factory in East Tamaki, Auckland
